1. Who is responsible for your information
International Inheritance Group LLP (“IIG”, “we”, “us”) is the controller of personal information described in this notice. We are a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales under number OC458288, with registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom.
2. Information we collect
When you send an enquiry, we may collect your name, contact details, country of residence, countries connected with the matter, the stage of the matter and the information you choose to provide in your message. Our systems also receive limited technical information needed to operate and protect the form, such as time of submission, IP address, user agent and server security logs.
Please do not include identity-document numbers, bank credentials, full account details, original documents or extensive sensitive family information in your first message. If we need sensitive information later, we will explain an appropriate way to provide it.
3. Why we use it
We use enquiry information to understand and respond to your request, check whether we may be able to assist, identify possible conflicts or jurisdictional issues, protect the website against abuse, keep an appropriate record of communications and take steps at your request before a possible engagement.
Our legal bases are taking pre-contractual steps at your request, our legitimate interests in responding to genuine enquiries and operating a secure professional service, and compliance with legal obligations where applicable. If we need to process special-category information, we will identify an appropriate additional condition or ask for explicit consent where that is the suitable basis.
4. Who receives it
Access is limited to people who need the information to review or administer the enquiry. We also use carefully selected hosting, email, security and IT service providers acting under appropriate arrangements. We do not sell personal information.
We will not send the facts of your matter to an external lawyer, notary, tax adviser or other specialist without an appropriate reason and, where relevant, your knowledge. A specialist who accepts a separate engagement may become an independent controller of the information they receive.
5. International processing
Our work and service providers may involve countries outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where data protection law requires it, we use an approved transfer mechanism or another lawful safeguard. The practical requirements of a cross-border matter may also require information to be sent to the jurisdiction concerned after scope and safeguards have been considered.
6. How long we keep it
If an enquiry does not become an engagement, we normally retain the correspondence for up to 12 months so we can respond, maintain continuity and handle complaints or conflict checks. We may keep a minimal suppression or conflict record for longer where justified. Engagement records are kept for the period stated in the relevant engagement terms or required by law. Security logs are normally retained for a shorter operational period.
7. Security
We use access controls, encrypted transmission, system hardening, restricted administrative access and backup measures proportionate to the information handled. No internet or email system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please use the enquiry form only for the initial outline.
8. Cookies and analytics
This website currently does not use advertising cookies, behavioural tracking or third-party analytics. It does not set a marketing cookie when you submit the enquiry form. Standard server logs are used for availability, security and abuse prevention.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to certain processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent. These rights are subject to legal limits. Contact privacy@internationalinheritancegroup.com to make a request.
You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or, where applicable, your local data protection authority. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as the service develops or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
